Teamwork with the glass specialists at SCHOTT AG.

Glass is ever present in our everyday life. The versatility of the material means that there are almost no limits to its possible uses. When SCHOTT AG, one of the world's leading glass specialists, gets together with engineering experts of EPC Group, customers all over the world benefit from the pooled know-how of these two German companies.

The result is a clearly structured, cost-effective, energy-efficient plant design with excellent technological equipment. And all that is achieved in the shortest possible implementation and commissioning times. EPC has a lot to offer when it comes to the construction of turnkey glass production plants – such as the construction of the new NOWA float glass plant for Schott Jenaer Glas GmbH.

EPC Exclusives

Each reduction of the construction time substantially reduces its cost. Prefabricated concrete parts have the advantages listed below. Quick assembly without time-consuming shuttering work, very smooth interior and exterior wall surfaces, which can be painted without having to be plastered, play a key role in substantially reducing construction times which, in turn, have positive effects on the construction sites.

  • Consistent quality
  • High precision
  • High surface quality
  • Flexible and diverse designs
  • Special solutions
  • Quick construction
  • Improved cost-effectiveness
  • Costs reduced by pre-fabrication (windows, doors, electrical installations and sanitary facilities)

Constructing industrial plants is a complex business. It does not just involve planning comprehensive chemical and physical processes, but also checking the viability of the plant, and the safety regulations and legal circumstances, such as the patent and licensing situation. Application-oriented research in close cooperation with institutes and universities increases the innovative power of the EPC Group. Certified research and development ensures your success. Technological and other developments of manufacturing processes are important building blocks in the construction of modern, state-of-the-art industrial plants.

Since its foundation, the EPC Group has regularly developed and successfully marketed new processes. In recent years, it has designed and implemented many research and pilot plants in a wide range of fields.

Continual further development of and support for the implementation of new and innovative processes and technical equipment means that we are always up with the state of the art in science and technology. We select specific recycling technologies so that we can offer our customers the ideal method for optimizing processes and energy consumption.

For example, EPC can offer a number of different PET recycling processes on request. The customer chooses the final processing stage to produce the desired amorphous, semicrystalline or deep-treated end product. EPC will be glad to advice on the best employment of the process stages "Sorting", "Regranulating" and "Refining".

Do you need to upgrade your existing production plant? There are new legal drafts for the Emission Control Act, so do you need to modify your production plant to comply with them? Or are your operating costs too high?

In all aspects of adapting, optimizing and expanding industrial plants, the EPC Group supports you on all questions concerning plant construction, including consulting, and approval applications and procedures. As an interdisciplinary company, EPC has qualified, highly motivated employees with a high level of knowledge and experience of managing complex plants, and who can quickly detect the interconnections between sections of (part)processes and ancillary plants. By considering industrial plants holistically, we can not only manage plants more efficiently, but also increase their output and reduce their costs.

This applies, above all, to obtaining, providing and recovering energy, for example from heat. We also investigate the potential for saving and recirculating process water, as well as the need and benefit of treating waste water so that it can be reused. Testing and checking through a process control system is essential for monitoring a process and its ancillary systems, and being able to respond for both the short and long term to changes in the process. We can also reduce the additional costs of essential energies and feed materials by implementing an energy management system.
